 On Signing Credit Agreements between Vnesheconombank and Aviaimport S.A.
Today, on January 30, in the course of Cuban Chairman of the State Council and Council of Ministers Raul Castro’s formal visit to the Russian Federation, State Corporation ‘Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’ and Cuba’s Company Empresa Cubana Importadora de Aviacion S.A. (Aviaimport S.A.) signed two agreements on opening credit lines for a total amount of 44.55 million US dollars. In favor of Vnesheconombank, the agreements were signed by acting Vnesheconombank Chairman Nikolai Kosov and in favour of the Cuban party – by Aviaimport S.A. General Representative Orlando Santa Gomes. The credits are aimed at financing supplies of TU-204SE aircraft and auxiliary equipment under the export contract between Aviaimport S.A. and OJSC Ilyushin Finance Co. The agreements were signed to support Russian enterprises’ exports and also to implement the agreement on intent of opening credit lines signed in September 2008. Support for industrial exports is one of Vnesheconombank’s main line of investment activities specified by the Memorandum on the State Corporation’s Financial Policies.
