 Mr. Andrey Shelkovy, Senior Vice-President Takes Part in “Mortgage in Russia - 2008” Conference
Marriott Grand Hotel, Moscow, hosted the annual “Mortgage in Russia - 2008” Conference, organised by Vedomosti Magazine. MBRD represented by Mr. Andrey Shelkovy, Senior Vice-President, took part in this event with the report on “Mortgage in Regions: Today and in the Near Future”.
This year the conference was dedicated to the latest changes in mortgage law, specific of loan portfolio formation, refinancing and securitisation mechanisms, clients’ demands and expectations, as well as the outlook for mortgage in Russia. Besides bank representatives the conference hosted RF State Duma representatives, The Moscow City Housing Policy and Housing Fund Administration Department officers, AHML experts, Russian Bank Association members, researchers, advisers and lawyers.
Mr. Shelkovy made a keynote address on market situation, MBRD’s plans and the Bank’s regional prospects in development of mortgage products, “From the outset the Bank’s strategy placed the top priority on regional expansion of our lending products. More then 80% of the total amount of our mortgages is originated through our regional network accounting for 75 offices throughout 50 Russian cities and towns. Moreover we are trying to respond to the latest market trends”.
The second part of the day was dedicated to the discussion on cooperation between bank and realtors, insurance in mortgage deals, current market situation and development scenarios. Panelists also answered the questions of reporters and journalists, shared their view on mortgage market life circles and prospects.
