 Housing at 12% in UAH: fruitful partnership of the State Mortgage Institution and "UkrSibbank"
In early 2007, JSCIB «UkrSibbank» and State Mortgage Institution (SMI) signed supplement agreement on partnership allowing to execute refinancing loan or mortgage loan under top-favorable conditions. «Interest rate – 12% per annum in UAH, lending period – up to 30 years. Moreover, the borrowers are offered to choose a suitable-for-themselves loan repayment schedule: annuity or monthly repayment of principal debt by installments with interest on the remaining outstanding being accrued. A loan may be rendered both to a natural person and individual entrepreneur», commented Vladlen Dedkov, Head of SME Department of JSCIB «UkrSibbank». Down payment makes up 25% of the purchased housing value. Bank’s fee is one-off at 1.2% of the loan amount, releasing a client from any other fees for the entire lending period. «The new thing about the partnership conditions is that a borrower can be rendered a loan pledged by real estate for up to 10 years for making the necessary housing improvements. In addition, minimum and maximum loan amounts were increased accordingly», highlighted Vladlen Dedkov. SMI was incorporated under Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministries of Ukraine in late 2004, for the purpose of mortgage development in Ukraine giving score for mortgage loans being more affordable. As early as in August, 2005, «UkrSibbank» rendered the first loan under partnership with SMI in line with pilot project. As of June 11, 2007, «UkrSibbank» ranks second in TOP-10 banks-partners of SMI as for the volume and number of refinanced mortgage loans. «Partnership with the State Mortgage Institution stipulates the execution of a long-term loan in national currency at currently-lowest interest rate», said Vladlen Dedkov.
