 On Conducting Consultations by Vnesheconombank at an Expert Level of the SCO Interbank Consortium
Today, on March 12, Vnesheconombank as the Chairman Bank of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Interbank Consortium held a conference of senior executives and experts. In the course of the consultations the participants discussed issues of the current cooperation witin the SCO Interbank Consortium. The conference participants focused on finalizing the agenda for the forthcoming meeting of the SCO Council at a level of SOC Interbank Consortium member banks’ heads in Ekaterenburg as well on preparing Regulations on Cooperation between the Interbank Consortium and SCO observer countries’ banks. The conference participants also discussed issues of cooperation between SCO observer countries and financial institutions as well as issues of expanding cooperation with the SCO Business Council and creating an Internet site of the SCO Interbank Consortium. Representatives of partner banks shared opinions and information on updating the pool of projects and selecting SCO Interbank Consortium’s pilot projects. The SCO Interbank Consortium was established on October 26, 2005, its activity is aimed at supporting the regional economic cooperation. The Consortium incorporates such authorized banks of SCO member states as the Kazakhstan Development Bank, the China State Development Bank, OJSC RSK Bank, State Corporation ‘Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’ the Tajikistan State Savings Bank “Amonatbank”, the Uzbekistan National Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs. Since 2008, the Eurasian Development Bank has been the partner bank of the SCO Interbank Consortium. Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev is the Chairman of the SCO Interbank Consortium Council (in 2008-2009). Origin: Press Office of Vnesheconombank
