10.07.2008 /Events The Bank of Moscow Takes Part in the DEBT Governor's Charity Program

A signing ceremony took place on July 8, 2008 at 16:00 when the Administration of Saint Petersburg and the joint stock commercial bank — Bank of Moscow entered into a Strategic Partnership Agreement for implementing the DEBT charity program. The Bank will furnish a financial assistance in the amount of 5 million rubles within the framework of the Agreement. The money shall be used to buy medical equipment and medical drugs, and also trip tickets to health resorts of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region for the Word War II veterans to undergo sanatorium-and-spa treatment.

Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko, the Governor of Saint Petersburg, and Andrey Fridrikhovich Borodin, the President of the Bank of Moscow, took part in the signing ceremony.

The DEBT Governor’s Charity Program has been implemented in St. Petersburg since 2004. The aim of the program is to provide a targeted support to the World War II veterans. Over 150 large enterprises and bodies of St Petersburg have already signed agreements with the Administration of the city, thereby over 500 thousand veterans and disabled veterans and residents of blockaded Leningrad will receive targeted assistance.

The Bank of Moscow is one of the largest universal banks of Russia providing a diversified scope of financial services both for legal entities and individuals; these services range from corporate and retail banking services and credit activities to management of assets and financing in the international capital markets. One of the strategically important tasks of the Bank is to develop the regional network. At the time, products and services of the Bank are offered in 373 subdivisions of the Bank in different regions of the country. The Bank of Moscow deals with the financial services market of the Northwest region of Russia since 1999; its sale network in this region includes 36 offices. The Saint Petersburg branch develops the retails and corporate business and deals with the government sector of economy, also providing services to large enterprises of the city. The branch has 12 auxiliary offices.
