On Holding Sports Festival “Partners of the 21st Century”

Vnesheconombank’s seventh annual corporate sports festival “Partners of the 21^st Century” was held on May 3, 2008 on the territory of the “Yantar” stadium. The Festival attracted a lot of competitors and spectators who were Vnesheconmbank’s employees, members of their families, partner institutions and friends.

“With every passing year the number of guests of our festival increases and the team “Partners of the 21^st Century” expands too thanks to Vnesheconombank’s magnetic force,” stressed Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev speaking at the Festival’s opening ceremony.

Traditionally, the main event of the Sports Festival was a mini-football tournament. Teams of Vnesheconombank, the Russian Finance Ministry, the Russian Central Bank, VTB Bank, the Russian Black Sea Navy, ROSNO, MTS as well as the team of the amalgamated trade union organization of the Russian Presidential Administration, the State Duma and the Federation Council competed for the Cup of the Chairman of Vnesheconombank. The Yantar stadium team took first place, Vnesheconombank’s team – second place and ROSNO’s team – third place.

Teams from VEB’s departments, the Russian Development Bank and Roseximbank competed zealously for the Cup of the Chairman of Vnesheconombank. Various sports contests were also held for the smallest ones and VEB’s children’s team played against the pirates’ team in a football super match.
