15.05.2007 /Events Center-invest Bank experience has become of international importance

Center-invest Bank experience in the sphere of development of small business and energy-saving technologies in the South of Russia was presented as a successful case study in the yearly report of International Finance Corporation (IFC) “Banking on Sustainability. Financing Environmental and Social Opportunities in Emerging Markets”.

The report says that Center-invest Bank is focused on strategy, which is based on the use of the best world practice and technologies allowing the Bank being the first among competitors.

Unlike a popular Russian concept on “social responsibility” of business, world practice utilizes stable development approach which still implies maximization of profits for business but in a long run and not momentary.

Based on long-term tasks Center-invest Bank successfully develops customers’ business as well as social and economic environments of the South of Russia. Center-invest Bank is the first Russian bank, participating in the program of International Finance Corporation (IFC) “Investment stimulation into energy-saving”. Over 22 SMEs of the South of Russia took part in program realization and they were able to buy new equipment as well as to lower energy-expenses up to 30%. The volume of financing within the framework of the program reached USD 8.4 million.

Center-invest Bank experience in lending for energy-efficiency projects is important for the regional economy as it will allow the enterprises and population decrease expenses on energy-resources in the frames of constantly rising tariffs for energy-resources.
