09.05.2007 /Events Vnesheconombank Holds Festive Reception for Veterans

Following a great tradition Vnesheconombank held a festive reception for VEB’s Veteran Coucil members.

Today, there are 339 members in the Veteran Council: 12 members are active war veterans, 62 members worked on the home front during the war. Vnesheconombank’s veterans served almost in all arms of the service and fought in many battles of the Great Patriotic War and participated in rebuilding the Soviet economy after the war.

Vnesheconombank Chairman addressed veterans on behalf of VEB’s management and gave them his best wishes for Victory Day and wished them good health and happiness. The Bank’s Chairman told veterans about the Russia Government’s plans to establish a new financial development institution for foreign economic affairs.

“It’s a good thing that we managed to keep the proud and all respected name brand, Vnesheconombank, in the name of the new Development. Bank,” said Vladimir Dmitriev, “we considered it an honor to stand up for this brand in memory of those who died, used to work and go on working for our Bank.”

In their turn, veterans presented Vladimir Dmitriev with Vnesheconombank’s Excellent Worker Badge and wished that he would uphold and augment traditions established for 83 years of Vnersheconombank’s operation.
