 VTB Group continues to strengthen its Investment Banking team with top market experts
Moscow, 6 June – The Investment Banking division of VTB Group continues to expand its team of top-rated experts, as part of its strategy to further strengthen its position on the market,Timofey Demchenko was appointed Head of the Private Equity and Special Situations Department and Dmitry Skryabin will join the company as Head of Energy and Utilities in the Research Department. His arrival significantly strengthens VTB’s Research team and will allow us to provide our clients with top market research on this key sector of the Russian economy.” Timofey Demchenko has over ten years of experience in private equity and corporate business development. During his impressive career in leading international and Russian companies, Timofey participated in over 15 major private equity transactions in Western Europe, the USA and Russia. Timofey has also a significant experience in international M&A transactions and strategic alliances between global partners. Timofey holds the highest professional qualifications and certifications from CIMA and SFA, as well as a degree in Economics. Dmitry Skryabin is a top-rated analyst in the utilities sector with over seven years of industry experience and an in-depth industry knowledge. Dmitry was named the #1 analyst in his sector in the “All-Russia research Team 2007”, survey by Institutional Investor, and became the top Russian utility analyst of 2006, according to RBC. His authority and widely recognized professional skills in the sector lead him to occupy strategic positions, such as member of the Audit Committee of RAO UES’ Board of Directors and member on the Board of the Wholesale Generating Company OGK-6 from 2004-05. Timofey Demchenko joined VTB from Deutsche Bank Ltd. (Moscow) where he was head of private equity and special situations since 2007. Previously, he worked as an international business development executive and managing director of Siemens AG and IBM ltd in London (2002-2007). Prior to this, he worked for two years as a private equity investment officer in TD Capital Partners, a private equity firm in London. Timofey started his carrier as an equity trader for Renaissance Capital in Moscow, later moving to Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in London as an Emerging Markets equity trader.
Timofey graduated from Moscow State University of Railways in 1995. He holds a Masters degree in Finance from the London School of Economics (1999) and participated in Siemens International Management 1-year executive development program in Munich, Boston, Istanbul, London and Vienna. Timofey also holds a Ph D. in Economics from the Russian Academy of Sciences Institute of Social and Political Studies. 
Dmitry Skryabin joined VTB from UniCredit Aton where he was a senior equity analyst in Power Utilities since 2005. Prior to that, he occupied the position of planning manager at Evrazholding in Moscow for a year. Previously, Dmitry was a senior equity analyst in Utilities with FINAM Investment Holding in Moscow from 2003. He began his career in JSC “Energosetproject” in Moscow in the capacity of senior engineer before becoming an economist (2000-03).
Dmitry Skryabin graduated from The State University of Management (Moscow) with a degree in power industry management in 2001.
