Rushan Khvesyuk Voted Businessman of the Year 2007

Chairman of the Executive Board and Acting CEO of Alfa-Bank Rushan Khvesyuk received a prestigious international award “Person of the Year 2007” in the category “Businessman of the Year”. This title is given to the Bank’s top manager for his achievements in the development and implementation of innovation technologies, and for his successful efforts in the efficient development of the banking network. The solemn award-giving ceremony took place yesterday in the Petrovsky Hall of the Great Kremlin Palace.

The award “Person of the Year” was founded in 2001 by RBK group of companies. It is given to the people of great influence in the country. The purpose of the project is to draw attention of the Russian society to the prominent figures, which define development of the country, promote consolidation of the society, business and state, and contribute to the integration of Russia in the global information and economic environment.

The Expert Council selects participants, where each member has the right to propose a candidate. The Expert Council consists of the most prominent figures representing major award categories, including public figures, government officials, leading Russian businessmen, and journalists. The Expert Council guarantees objectivity and representativeness in the selection of candidates.

Major criteria, on which basis the selection of winners is done is the innovativeness of the candidate, special achievements, and outstanding personal and professional characteristics. Assessment is made in view of the value of personal contribution to the development of the company, industry, country, and integration into the global community.

This year, among other winners of the award “Person of the Year 2007” in different categories were: Alisher Usmanov, Gazprominvestholding General Director, Valery Okulov, Aeroflot — Russian Airlines General Director, Aleksandr Glus, Nemiroff Group Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Ruben Aganbegyan, Head of AntantaPioglobal and Renaissance Capital General Director.
