10.04.2009 /Credit cards Visa announced the winner of "Visa Fest 2008" campaign

Moscow, 19 February 2009 the main prize winner of Visa Fest promotional campaign “Any location on the Globe for 1 500 rubles with Visa” is Serdechnaya Larisa Viktorovna, who paid for a purchase with her Visa card issued by Moscow Bank for Reconstruction and Development at ‘Nash’ supermarket of ‘Sedmoy Kontinent’ supermarket chain. Larisa won a trip for two persons to any location on the Globe at a value of 300 000 rubles including taxes.

This campaign was a part of ‘Visa Fest’ annual promotional campaign. Every customer of ‘Sedmoy Continent’, ‘Perekrestok’, ‘Mosmart’, ‘Ramstor’, ‘Lenta’ and ‘Karusel’ in Saint-Peterburg who paid for their purchases with Visa cards from 1st December 2008 to 11th January 2009 more than RUB 1,500 could participate in this campaign.

The campaign has become a perfect means of stimulation for customers to use Visa cards for every day purchases more often. Over the campaign’s period, many people have really appreciated the advantages of payments with Visa in comparison to cash. This is evidenced by the fact that over the campaign’s period the number of Visa trade transactions has increased by 29.5% in ‘Perekrestok’, by 41.2% in ‘Karusel’, by 21.5% in ‘Sedmoy Continent’, and by 18.4% in ‘Ramstor’.

Irina Novichkova, Marketing Director of Visa in Russia and CIS, said: “Visa Fest has been organized in Russia for the sixth time, and we are happy to see the active involvement of cardholders to Visa promotional campaigns, who are convinced of the advantages of Visa payment cards for purchases and services payments. On behalf of Visa I cordially congratulate the winner and believe she will use Visa card during her trip”.

On gala ceremony Albert Zvezdochkin, Senior vice-president MBRD awarded Ms. Serdechnaya a certificate of honour of MBRD. “We are delighted Mr. Serdechnaya is our client and will help her to get a chance to become winner for the second time”, Mr. Zvezdochkin said.

The campaign participants had a chance to receive a guaranteed present for travelling from Visa: manicure set, thermos bottle, thermo mug or travelers’ kit. The promotional campaign conducted in 6 leading supermarket chains in Moscow and St. Petersburg was supported by 50 Russian banks which distributed the information on the campaign among their clients
